My name is Megan Potts, and I am passionate about teaching, movement, and creating a positive learning environment for young students. I believe that education is more than academics—it’s about building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. My goal is to create an inclusive and engaging classroom where every child feels supported and inspired.
I recently completed my Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching (BPEC) with a specialization in kinesiology from Douglas College. This program deepened my understanding of human movement, physical literacy, and active learning, all of which shape my approach to teaching. Currently, I am working toward my Bachelor in Education (Elementary) at Thompson Rivers University, preparing for my future as an elementary school teacher.

I graduated from high school with a double dogwood diploma, demonstrating proficiency in both English and French. To expand my teaching opportunities, I plan to continue studying French so I can teach in both languages. I believe that bilingual education opens doors for students, and I am excited to share my passion for language learning with them.
In addition to my academic journey, sports and physical activity have been a major part of my life. I have played softball, ringette, volleyball, and track and field, which have taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. These qualities are just as important in the classroom as they are in sports. Through movement and activity, I want to help students develop confidence and problem-solving skills while making learning fun and engaging.

My biggest passion is equestrian sports, where I have over 15 years of experience. Riding and working with horses has taught me patience, responsibility, and adaptability, all of which influence how I teach. I believe that movement and hands-on experiences are powerful tools in education, helping students stay engaged, focused, and excited to learn. Whether through active lessons, outdoor learning, or physical education, I strive to make learning a dynamic experience.
As I work toward becoming a teacher, I am eager to bring my enthusiasm, dedication, and bilingual skills into the classroom. My goal is to create a supportive and inspiring space where every student feels valued, capable, and motivated to reach their full potential. I am committed to fostering academic growth, physical well-being, and personal development, ensuring that students not only learn but also build confidence and curiosity that will stay with them for life.
This journey is just beginning, and I look forward to making a difference in the lives of my future students.
